With the fall harvest in full swing, you will not want to miss out on the final Wakefield Market of the year this Saturday, October 15 from 9am-1pm.
Stock up with local apples, fall vegetables, meats, baking, cider, honey, preserves, maple syrup from local vendors and gift items from local artisans.
Delices de Damas, founded by our local Syrian refugee family, will be serving the double fresh falafels sandwiches (fresh falafels on fresh bread backed in front of you), as well as bags of falafels accompanied by either marinated turnips or tahineh/yogurt sauce. They will also be serving zaatar manaish.
Visit Junior vendors Hannah Scott-Talib and Liam Greig and listen to music by Bob Webb.
This weekend’s market is in support of the Wakefield Food Pantry. Supporters can bring a non-perishable food item or a cash donation.
There will be a Thank You presentation to Elke Terstege at 11:30am.
Once you have completed your tour of the market, be sure to take in the fall colours with a stroll along the river, stopping in at local area shops along the way.
Cap it all of with a fresh cooked meal from one of our many fine eateries or stay the evening and wake up to the Gatineau river sunrise which is spectacular at this time of year!
