In our world of information overload and short attention spans, the organizers of the Wakefield Doc Fest felt the need to take some time to reflect on an issue, on a particular aspect of human existence, so that we could form an educated opinion about it. The documentary film allows us to do that. Doc Fest is an annual event that takes place over three consecutive weekends every February.
The Wakefield Writers Festival – La Pêche is an anticipated and visible bilingual cultural, literary and educational event in the Municipality of La Pêche. Started in 2014, the festival creates spaces for authors and readers to explore writing and ideas in fun and interesting ways. It promotes both local and nationally known authors, and raises awareness about literacy and reading/writing, in French and English.
