If you haven’t visited Wakefield, Quebec on Canada Day then you don’t know what you are missing. Each year, the village comes alive on Canada Day with activities for locals and tourists alike. When we throw a party, we do it right!
Festivities kick off with the Canada Day parade , starting at Ski Vorlage at 12:30 and working it’s way down Riverside, ending at the Wakefield La Pêche Community Centre, where Opening Ceremonies will begin at 1:30.
Kids activities such as face painting, arts and crafts and a pie eating contest take place from 2pm-5pm, while the Grateful Griller will be serving up a BBQ at 5:00 at the Community Centre. Live music will be provided by Lindsay Ferguson and Bruce Cawdron.
Restaurants and retail stores are open all day long. Pull up a spot on one of the many patios and take in the people watching, rent a canoe or stand up paddleboard from Expéditions Wakefield, or grab an ice cream cone from Sur La Lune. Be sure to keep an eye open for the famous Canada Day raft too!
Fireworks kick off at 9:45pm at the Community Centre and they promise to be the best ever…until next year of course. Come and celebrate Canada Day with us in Wakefield, Quebec…see you there!
